Senior Living Community to Host Workshop on Opioid Use and Abuse

FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. (August 7, 2018) – The Peaks, A Senior Living Community, will be hosting the Ethics in the Pines event on Friday, August 17, from 9:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. The workshop is a timely examination of the ethical challenges of opioid use and abuse facing clinicians and patients in the state of Arizona. Ethics in the Pines will be presented by Arizona Bioethics Network (ABN), a community organization of health care and human service professionals dedicated to increasing the knowledge of bioethical issues and proficiencies in the healthcare and biomedical research community. To achieve their mission, ABN provides access to research resources, offers educational programs, and provides networking opportunities for biomedical and health care professionals to collaborate and exchange ideas.

Janet Mars, Executive Director at The Peaks, A Senior Living Community, says, “The state of Arizona is highly affected by the opioid use and abuse epidemic, and we have a sense of urgency to be part of the solution.
