FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. (Dec. 26, 2018) – The Peaks, A Senior Living Community (The Peaks) is excited to announce that Michele Ortiz has accepted the position of Executive Director. She will now be based in Flagstaff, Ariz., and will oversee all aspects of the 140-unit independent living, assisted living, memory care, and respite care community.

Ortiz has been working for communities managed by The Goodman Group since 2012, most recently as the Executive Director of Katella Senior Living Community (Katella) in Los Alamitos, Cali. She was the Executive Director at Katella until April 2018, before making the personal decision to return to Arizona to be closer to family.

“My passion is working with the senior population,” said Ortiz. “I strive to create a home-like environment in each of the communities I’ve had the pleasure of working in.”

Ortiz comes to The Peaks with more than 10 years of experience in assisted living. Her experience began as a caregiver in Wisconsin while attending the University of Wisconsin – Eau Claire and continued to grow into an administrative role in Phoenix, Ariz. She graduated from Grand Canyon University with a Masters in Healthcare Administration and shortly after received her Nursing Home Administrator’s license in Arizona.
